The people behind the name IQ TEX® are Michael Dehn (developer) and Christian Wiedemann (jurist).
Michael Dehn inherited his talent for inventing from his grandfather, Hugo Carl Dehn. Amongst other things, he had invented an early version of today’s fuel pumps as well as a steering mechanism for heavy plows that is still in use nowadays. Michael Dehn completed professional training in retail trade and switched to real estate services, before he finally followed in the footsteps of his ancestors. Inventing remained no more than a hobby for a long time.
"When I discovered one of my ideas that had previously been rejected by a manufacturer in a magazine advert I was quite angry. But at the same time, I felt very much confirmed. “
What Michael Dehn needed at that time was a skilful manager who would not shy away from challenges. He found such a person in Christian Wiedemann.
In 2005, Dehn and Wiedemann founded the IQ TEX® GmbH. They both run the company jointly. The mission of this think tank from Hamburg, Germany, was clearly defined: the technical development of new products that feature a practical and measurable benefit to the customer.
IQ TEX® has been awarded several prizes for the development of its ventilation element, including the Brand New Award of the sports industry at the ISPO Sport & Style in July 2007 in Munich, Germany. |
